Churches spend more time teaching leadership skills than teaching Bible doctrine. Now we have great leaders that are leading us astray.
Nobody had the keys to the locker containing the only binoculars on the Titanic. A surviving "lookout" testified in govt enquiries that he could have seen the fatal iceburg if he had binoculars. Without a vision (ability to see) people perish. Christianity is cursed with a false sense of security. Sin warnings are missing.
Did your first beer taste awful? Did your first cigarette make you sick? Did your first visit to the wrong church feel wrong? There's your sign. Keep on drinking, smoking or going to the wrong church - it's all the same. You start liking it, and it eventually destroys you.
Christianity is malignant with carnality and worldliness. The new preachers allow folks to do everything the old preachers preached against - not because they are now more spiritual or godly, but because they, too, are carnal and worldly.
Years ago, preachers complained when people missed Church on Sunday nights to watch "Gunsmoke" and "Ed Sullivan." Nowadays, they have cancelled Sunday night services and go to the movies instead. Hollywood won. The Church lost.
WORDS OF JESUS - The first recorded words of Jesus in His adult life were spoken to John the Baptist at the Jordan River. "Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness," Matthew 3:15. Lesson One: Do everything you need to do to fulfill all righteousness.
WORDS OF JESUS - Jesus was only twelve when His mother found Him after three days, having Biblical discussions in the Temple. He asked her, "How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about MY FATHER'S BUSINESS?" Luke 2:49. That 12-year-old is our model. He was more interested in the things of God than in child's play.
WORDS OF JESUS - When Satan tempted Jesus to turn the stones to bread, Jesus said, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God," Matthew 4:4. God's Word is the Bread of Life. Studying the Bible is like eating bread. Have you eaten lately? Open your Bible.
WORDS OF JESUS - Satan wanted Jesus to jump off the Temple pinnacle. He said the angels would protect Him. Jesus answered, "It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God." Satan knows that "leap of faith" will destroy you. Resist temptation. Don't jump!!
WORDS OF JESUS - A man with a withered hand went to synagogue. Jesus saw him, and said, "Stand forth." "Stretch forth thine hand." When he did, "his hand was restored whole as the other," (Mark 3:5). Be faithful to attend the house of God. You never know when Jesus will look upon you and say, "Stretch forth thine hand."
WORDS OF JESUS - Satan offered Jesus "all the kingdoms of the world ...If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine." He offers you ALL THE WORLD for your worship! "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world." Say, "Get behind me, Satan; ...Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and Him only shalt thou serve."
WORDS OF JESUS - Jesus' first recorded words were at 12 years old, to His MOTHER. His next recorded statement was to JOHN the Baptist at His baptism. His third statement was to SATAN, during His Temptation. His first words to EVERYONE? "Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand." Until you have repented, no other words matter.
WORDS OF JESUS - Jesus' FIRST message: "Repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." His SECOND message: "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men." A divine mandate follows repentance. "Follow me." Follow Him wherever He leads, by His Word and by His Spirit. They forsook their fishing nets. What must you forsake?
WORDS OF JESUS - Jesus traversed Galilee, "teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom." Ruins of a synagogue in Cana still stand where Jesus preached and cast out devils. People rarely realize how fortunate they are to hear the words of Jesus. His words STILL save, heal and deliver.
"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. ...but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever," 1 John 2:15-17
Churches grow fast now that its OK to be carnal and worldly. No more "Show My People Their Sins;Come Out;Be Separate;Touch Not The Unclean"
Get ruler. Measure board. Cut. Discard ruler. Measure 2nd board by 1st. 3rd by 2nd. 4 by 3 etc. NOTHING fits. That's Christian w/o KJV Bible
Sin began in the Garden of Eden. Utopias do not inhibit sin. There may be forbidden fruit in your health, success, prosperity, fame. Beware!
