Jesus Prophesied Distress Of Nations, And The Sea And Waves Roaring This morning, March 11, 2011... 
...the news came in that Japan was hit with the SEVENTH LARGEST EARTHQUAKE in recorded history. The tsunami that struck Japan caused devastation. Thousands of cars, boats and houses were swept away by the waves. Buildings were shaken and damaged. Fires spread throughout downtown Tokyo. A nuclear power plant was seriously damaged. Cellular telephone services were knocked out all over the country. The northern high-speed train was shut down. Underground subways were closed. A ship with 100 passengers was missing. And the number of casualties was unknown.
Tsunami warnings were issued for all the Hawaiian Islands and the West Coast of the United States. 
Worldwide Earthquakes Are Signs From God Announcing The End Of An Age
In THIS 21st CENTURY, over 1.5 million people have already died in earthquakes. In the first TEN years of this century, 20,000 died in India, 31,000 in Iran, 230,000 in Indonesia, 79,000 in Pakistan, 69,000 in China, and 230,000 in Haiti. An 8.8 earthquake in Chile in February of 2010 moved the entire city of Concepción 10 feet to the west, triggered a tsunami that devastated several coastal towns, moved the earth 8cm off its axis, shortened the length of the day by 1.26 microseconds, and caused standing waves in Lake Pontchartrain, Louisiana (4700 miles away). Two million people were displaced. Mark 13:8 - "There shall be earthquakes in divers places." These Are The Beginning Of Sorrows It is a prophetic omen that we are on the brink of the Third World War in less than one century. Earthquakes are also a sign from God. Earthquakes have killed almost 2 MILLION people in 100 years. Famines are a sign from God. Do you know how many deaths have resulted from FAMINES in the past century? In Russia, 1921, 5 million; 1929 China, 3 million; 1933 Russia, 10 million; 1936 China, 5 million; 1943 China, 1 million; 1967 India, 1.5 million; 1972 Africa, 1 million; 1979 Cambodia, 2 million; North Korea - ongoing, 3.5 million; 2004 Congo, 3.8 million. Currently, Kenya faces 10 million deaths by starvation. Mark 13:8 - "Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines." The Signs When ALL These Things Shall Be Fulfilled Some people foolishly argue that all Jesus' prophecies for the last days were fulfilled BEFORE the destruction of the Temple in 70AD. But Matthew's Gospel includes the most critical phrase. "What shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world [age]?" Matthew 24:3. Obviously, Jesus did not return at the destruction of the Temple, nor did His millennial kingdom begin at that time. Those prophecies were unquestionably for our time. Mark 13:4 - "Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled?" The Powers Of Heaven Shall Be Shaken From the soon-coming day when the Abomination of Desolation takes place in the Third Temple in Jerusalem, until the final Battle of Armageddon, the final three and a half years will be hellacious. The signs we have seen so far are only the very beginning of sorrows. There will be MUCH WORSE before the end. "There shall be signs in the sun, ...moon, ...stars; ...distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring." Great wars among heavenly demon principalities will wreak havoc on earthly events. Satan knows he has but a short time, and he will be in an earth-shattering rage. Luke 21:25 - "Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken." Wars: "Such Things Must Needs Be" The old Ottoman Empire fell during World War One, leading to the British Mandate of Palestine, a monumental event which triggered the massive repatriation of Jews from around the world to their homeland. The European Holocaust during the Second World War fomented the Jewish revolt in Palestine that led to the declaration of the State of Israel in 1948. Mark 13:7-8 - "And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom." Signs Of Last Days Will ALL Be Fulfilled In One Generation A generation is the typical lifespan of a man - 70-80 years. "The days of our years are threescore years and ten [70]; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore [80] years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away," Psalms 90:10. God began to fulfill great numbers of prophecies concerning the last days during World War II, and especially with the founding of the State of Israel in May, 1948. We must be very close to the end of that generation. Look up! The Church of Jesus Christ is about to be redeemed! Luke 21:28,32 - "And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. ...Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled." Prophetic Signs Are Like New Shoots On A Tree Limb "Behold the fig tree, and all the trees; When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand." Jesus taught this parable to warn us that the amazing prophetic signs we are now seeing are like new branches on a tree. They will very soon bloom and bear fruit. This will be the last great harvest of the earth, the rapture and resurrection of all the sainted dead. Luke 21:31 - "When ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand." This Generation Shall Not Pass Away Till All Signs Are Fulfilled The parable of the fig tree refers allegorically to the nation of Israel (Jeremiah 8:13; Hosea 9:10; Joel 1:7). Destroyed in 70 AD, a tender branch put forth new leaves in 1948, when the State of Israel was reborn. Jesus said, "When ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors. ...this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done." A 70-80-year generation will soon expire. Armageddon will finish that prophecy. Mark 13:31 - "Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away." His Prophecies Cannot Fail - Do Not Be Ensnared The prophecies Jesus made concerning the end of the age were recorded in Matthew, Mark, and Luke. He emphasized to them that "Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away." He warned them not to be distracted by the cares of this life, so the Day of the Lord would not catch them by surprise, "for as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth." Luke 21:36 - "Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things." Unrest In The Middle East Will Unite Nations Against Israel As the long-standing dictatorships and governments of many Arab nations are falling (Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, Sudan) and others are teetering on the brink (Syria, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and others), the Bible is clear that Israel will face its worst day ever. Zechariah 14:2-3 - "For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, ...Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle." The Mount Of Olives Jesus surrendered to Satan and Judas Iscariot while standing on the Mount of Olives. But soon He will stand there again in awesome victory. He will launch the final battle of Armageddon on that very spot. Zechariah 14:4 - "His feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south." Earthquake Will Provide Jews Escape Route To Christ Armies of Antichrist will be in the process of annihilating the Jews when Jesus arrives on the Mount of Olives. An earthquake will cleave the mountain open, and terrified Jews will flee to Christ through that new valley. Zechariah 14:4-5 - "His feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, ...before Jerusalem on the east, and [it] shall cleave in the midst thereof..., there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south. And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains." All Who Fight Against Jerusalem Will Suffer A Plague Many Bible prophecies speak of fiery judgment from God, during the Sixth Trumpet War AND the Battle of Armageddon. From the description that Zechariah gave, it appears that a nuclear holocaust will come to the Middle East. Look at these symptoms: Zechariah 14:12,15 - "This shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth. ...And so shall be the plague of ...all the beasts." All The Saints Will Come With Christ Jesus Christ will gather all His saints, living and dead, to the great climax at Armageddon. "Immediately after the tribulation of those days... They shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other," Matthew 24:29-31. "They lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years," Revelation 20:4. Zechariah 14:5 - "The LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee." It Shall Be Light In The Evening Time This is one of the great divine paradoxes. When the world faces its darkest hour, it shall be light. When sin, hatred and war reach their very worst, Jesus will come, and the people who sit in darkness will see a Great Light - the Light of the World! Zechariah 14:6-7 - "It shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark: But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light."
