The United Nations Gives
"Non-Member Observer State"
Status To P.L.O.

By Ken Raggio

11/30/12

The United Nations General Assembly voted on November 29, 2012 to grant Palestine "Non-Member Observer State" status at the United Nations. There were 138 votes in favour, 9 against (including the United States), and 41 abstentions by the 193-member Assembly.

The legal entity that is hereby granted "Observer State," is none other than the Palestine Liberation Organization (P.L.O.), a terrorist organization founded in 1964 by the Arab League, chaired from 1969 to 2004 by Yasser Arafat, and since that time by Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen).

The Palestinian Authority (also called the Palestine National Authority), is an ADMINISTRATIVE ORGANIZATION established in 1994 under terms dictated by the Oslo Accords of 1993. It was the culmination of years of struggles between the State of Israel and the Palestinian Liberation Organization (P.L.O.). The major political party of the Palestinian Authority is FATAH, another terrorist military organization, of which Abbas is also the leader.

The Oslo Accords were signed at the White House under the auspices of then President Bill Clinton, with Yitzhak Rabin and Yasser Arafat as signatories. The Oslo Accords did NOT promise Palestinian statehood, did NOT provide Jerusalem as capital of a Palestinian State, and did not settle major issues including Palestinian refugees, Israeli settlements, or state borders.

Originally, it was supposed that the Palestinian Authority, under Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, would preside over the so-called "West Bank" and the Gaza Strip. However, an intifida that began in 2006 resulted in the Gaza being taken over by another terrorist organization, HAMAS, led by Ismail Haniyeh. HAMAS broke with FATAH and the P.A., and formed a separate governing entity for Gaza. Therefore, the P.L.O. now has greatly reduced influence on Gaza.

Therefore, the U.N. declaration of 11/29/12 is mostly a shot in the foot. There is still no State of Palestine. There is no Palestinian unity government over the West Bank and Gaza. Jerusalem is still not its capital, and most other core issues remain unresolved. Israel retains de-facto sovereignty over the territory.

Ultimately, the U.N. vote is being perceived as a step backwards in any efforts to resolve the two-state issue.

The Peace Process is at a long-standing stalemate. The U.N. Quartet has been virtually silent and ineffective for more than a year. Their "Roadmap for Peace," will ultimately lead to the epic battle of Armageddon, when Jesus Christ will bring the FINAL solution.

HOW DO ALL THESE DEVELOPMENTS FIT INTO THE PROPHESIED EVENTS OF BIBLE PROPHECIES?

Ancient prophecies, especially those of the Prophet Daniel, foretell a specific chain of events that will soon transpire.
