Ken Raggio's Music Videos CLICK ON SMALL ARROW ON BOTTOM LEFT OF EACH VIDEO TO AVOID LEAVING THIS PAGE Continuous Playlist (YouTube) Lloyd Bustard had just written this song when he sang it at our Church in the early 1990s. I wish I had written it myself, because it expresses my sentiments exactly. Years later, I made this recording at Church. (It is not professionally produced). I hope this will be your prayer, too. In 1993, Dixie and I spent an afternoon at the Church recording this song for my Mother, Velma Raggio, for Mother's Day. It is one of her favorite songs. No one but my family has heard this recording for almost 20 years. Now, Dixie is in the presence of God, and the message of this song is far more poignant. (This is not a studio production. I added all the instruments. Song was written in 1908 by Johnson Oatman, Jr. and is now in the Public Domain) HERE ARE THE LYRICS: 1. If I walk in the pathway of duty, If I work till the close of the day, I shall see the great King in His beauty, When I've gone the last mile of the way. CHORUS: When I've gone the last mile of the way, I will rest at the close of the day; And I know there are joys that await me, When I've gone the last mile of the way. 2. If for Christ I proclaim the glad story, If I seek for His sheep gone astray, I am sure He will show me His glory, When I've gone the last mile of the way. 3. Here the dearest of ties we must sever, Tears of sorrow are seen every day; But no sickness, no sighing forever, When I've gone the last mile of the way. 4. And if here I have earnestly striven, And have tried all His will to obey, 'Twill enhance all the rapture of heaven, When I've gone the last mile of the way. We used LeFevre Studios in Atlanta, Georgia. We arranged for the famous Goss Brothers to back us us. Lari played the Organ, Ronnie played the bass, and James played the guitar. Joe Piscopo played the bass, and I played the piano. Several of the following songs are from that album. Copyright by Ken Raggio "It's Worth It All" Laverne Tripp wrote this song in the late 60s, and Dixie and I began singing it even before we were married. It became our trademark song. The message is almost lost on this generation, but I still believe it. It is a great song. VERSE 1 I don't want a mansion on a hillside. I don't care for wealth or worldly fame. I don't worry when those around me prosper, For I have Jesus, and that's worth everything. CHORUS It's worth it all to feel this fire that's burning deep within. It's worth it all to know I'm saved and I am free from sin. Just to feel His touch and know that He is coming back again. It's worth it all. It's worth it all. VERSE 2 Once my life was dark and oh so empty. Every day I lives just seemed in vain. Then that nail-scarred hand reached down and gently touched me. Now I have Jesus, and that's worth everything. "Teach Me Thy Ways" Blast from the past... Dixie and I were already in full-time ministry in 1973, at the age of 21. We traveled the country preaching and singing. This was one of our most requested songs. VERSE 1 If I have failed to comfort my brother, If he needs help and I turn him away, If I have brought to Your heart disappointments, Please, Lord, forgive the way that I've lived. Teach me Thy ways. CHORUS: Teach me to walk in the footsteps of Jesus. Teach me to hear what You have to say. Help me to bear the cross you have given. Hold to my hand, help me to stand. Teach me Thy ways. VERSE 2 When I shall speak to those who don't know You, When I grow tired from the long, dreary day, When I must wait for an answer from heaven, Give me Thy grace, increase my faith, Teach me Thy ways. "The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power" "Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, ...but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot," 1 Peter 1:18-19. What can wash away my sins? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. This timeless classic, written by Andre' Crouch, reminds us again that "The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power." Dixie did a great job on this song. "Broken Vessel" "I went down to the potter's house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels. And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it. Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying, ...cannot I do with you as this potter? ...as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are ye in mine hand," Jeremiah 18:3-6 Including Lyrics and Song Background Copyrighted by Ken Raggio "When I Count My Blessings" During a time of grief and loss, I suddenly realized that I still had much to thank God for. I sat down at my keyboard and began to create this song. Within a few hours, this recording was the result. VERSE 1 Today I spent the evening thinking about You Lord I don't do that enough as You well know. You've always kept Your hand on me through every test and every trial. If it wasn't for Your awesome love, I couldn't face another mile. CHORUS But when I count my blessings, that's when I realize How good You've been to me down through the years. And Lord I love You more - more than I can say. And I know I'll love You more and more each day. VERSE 2 It's easy to forget, Lord, all the things You've done for me. You do so many good things, and we take them willingly. It seems so many people never thank You for Your love. They never take the time to give You all the praise. "I'll Fly" Background: I wanted to write a song about Heaven that would really paint a word picture and help convey how awesome it is going to be when we get there. This is it. 1. When I finally lay down my heavy burdens His angels will greet me And I'll fly to His bosom. I'll hear clear, crystal waters And an angel choir singing. White robes, white robes everywhere Strolling down bright streets of gold. Walls of jasper, gates of pearl, Shining mansions in a row. A place for me by the crystal sea Ever and ever I'll be 2. When I finally see Him And I stand in His presence Sitting high on His bright throne And His angels attending I'll feel peace like a river All my sorrows will vanish. Joyous dancing everywhere With the saints who've entered there Moses, Daniel, John and Paul But King Jesus most of all A place for me by the crystal sea Ever and ever I'll be CHORUS When I finally lay down my heavy burdens His angels will greet me And I'll fly to His bosom. There with Jesus we'll be Through all eternity Saints' and angels' voices will blend As the music of Heaven begins In the sweetest of praises to Him In that world without end Amen "You Make My Dreams Come True" Background: I get frustrated watching this generation search in vain for fulfillment in the temporary and material things that will soon pass away. I wanted to say to the Lord, "YOU make my dreams come true." Chorus: You make my dreams come true. You're always there for me. You hear me every time I pray. You help me when I stray Lord, You show me what to do. You make my dreams come true. 1. Lord, Your perfect wisdom is the very thing I need. Your awesome power, Your healing touch, Lord, You've got everything. And all I want is more of You. You make my dreams come true. 2. You called the light from darkness; Spread the stars from sky to sky; Made birds and bees and flowers and trees; Lord, You made everything. And that's not all that You can do - You make my dreams come true. 3. Glory, Hallelujah, I just want to give You praise. High up in Your Heaven all our voices we will raise. Forever and a day, all I want to do is say - You make my dreams come true. TO AVOID LEAVING THIS PAGE "Kingdom Come" Background: Since I am a serious student of prophecy, I wanted to write a song that re-affirms the divine reality that God still rules in the affairs of men. Forget the daily news on the major networks. The REAL news is that Jesus is coming, and HE is going to settle the Middle East crisis by taking Jerusalem and setting up His glorious kingdom there. So, I say, "Kingdom, COME!" 1. Daniel the Prophet saw nations to come - Babylon, Persia and Rome. But a Rock from a mountain came crushing them down And Jesus established His throne. Chorus: Kingdom come! Thy will be done On the earth as in heaven. The nations of men will see Jesus again And Jerusalem shall be His throne. 2. John Revelator said armies would come Encompassing Jerusalem But out of the sky came the armies of God And whipped them at Armageddon Chorus: Kingdom come! Thy will be done On the earth as in heaven. The nations of men will see Jesus again And Jerusalem shall be His throne. 3. Saints of all ages will join in that throng As we crown Him King of all kings. From Israel He'll rule the nations of men And we'll be His kings and His priests. Chorus: Kingdom come, Thy will be done On the earth as in heaven. The nations of men will see Jesus again And Jerusalem shall be His throne. Jerusalem, Jerusalem, Lift up your gates and sing Hosanna in the highest Hosanna to your king. Hosanna in the highest Hosanna to your king. "Joy Comes In The Morning" Background: I have suffered several very major reversals in the past ten years, and I wanted to remind myself that the will of God is a long-term plan. Today's problems may seem overwhelming, but I take solace in Jesus' own testimony. Although He suffered unspeakable reversals in His death and burial, His resurrection reminds us that joy really does come in the morning. VERSE 1 Jesus adversaries asked Him for a sign He said, "Tear this temple down, and in three days it will rise!" But they didn't understand. They just didn't understand... VERSE 2 Sorrow gripped Disciples as they watched Him led away. Terror filled their hearts with fear that He would die that day, 'Cause they didn't understand. They just didn't understand... VERSE 3 And when He cried, "It's finished!" and darkness filled the skies, An earthquake shook the ground below, and tears filled all their eyes They didn't understand. They just didn't understand... CHORUS That JOY COMES IN THE MORNING! The grave has no victory! Death, it has no sting! Yes, JOY COMES IN THE MORNING! All power in heaven and earth still belongs to Him He's still the King of Kings. VERSE 4 So, when it seems your tests and trials are more than you can stand, Aall hope seems gone, and all your world looks like it's crashing in, Just try to understand. Just try to understand... CHORUS That JOY, JOY COMES IN THE MORNING! The grave has no victory! Death, it has no sting! Yes, JOY COMES IN THE MORNING! All power in heaven and in earth still belongs to Him He's still the King of Kings. CHORUS 2: OH, JOY, JOY COMES IN THE MORNING! Although it's been 2000 years, Jesus said He's coming back again! OH, JOY, JOY COMES IN THE MORNING! All power in heaven and earth still belongs to Him He's still the King of Kings. TO AVOID LEAVING THIS PAGE "I'll Keep On Loving You" Background: Shortly before my wife of 31 years passed away following a six-year battle with cancer, I wrote the chorus of this song, and we used it as a worship chorus in Church. After she died, I sat down and wrote these verses, and I now sing it as my testimony. No matter what the losses and trials of life are, I want the LORD to know, "I'll keep on loving You!" 1. Jesus went to Calvary to suffer in my stead. Though He made the worlds and everything For me He bled. For the joy that was before Him He endured the pain. For that same joy, I know it's worth it all For me to say: CHORUS: I'll keep on loving You till the day I die. I'll keep on loving You, And here's the reason why- You loved me like nobody loved me. I'll keep on loving You, Until Your face I see. 2. Sometimes life brings tests and trials I don't understand. Seems like everything I hoped and dreamed Just turns to sand. But I know that all things work together in His plan And He's working for my good So I'll just hold His hand. CHORUS: I'll keep on loving You till the day I die. I'll keep on loving You, And here's the reason why- You loved me like nobody loved me. I'll keep on loving You, Until Your face I see. I'll keep on loving You, Until Your face I see. "More and More" Background: I caught myself dwelling too much on my problems, and realized that I was ignoring a lot of wonderful things that God was doing in my life. Sometimes, we owe it to ourselves and to God to stop and count our blessings. 1. Today I spent the evening Thinking about You, Lord. I don't do that enough, as You well know. You've always kept Your hand on me Through every test and every trial. If it wasn't for Your awesome love, I couldn't face another mile. CHORUS: But when I count my blessings That's when I realize How good You've been to me down through the years. And Lord, I love You more, More than I can say. And I know I'll love you more and more each day. 2. It's easy to forget, Lord, all the things You've done for me. You do so many good things, and we take them willingly. It seems so many people never thank You for Your love. They never take the time to give You all the praise. CHORUS: But when I count my blessings That's when I realize How good You've been to me down through the years. And Lord, I love You more, More than I can say. And I know I'll love you more and more each day. TO AVOID LEAVING THIS PAGE "Man of God" Background: I wrote this song to honor my Pastor of more than 25 years on the occasion of one of his anniversary services. I thank God for every great man of God who has given his life to the service of the LORD and His people. This is a good song for "Pastor Appreciation" day. 1. Man of God, called and chosen; Touched by the hand of God. A voice for a time and a season, Hearing the voice of God. So many generations had no one in his place Standing in the gap, making up the hedge Between the Lord and His people. CHORUS: A comforter, a watchman, preacher of the Word. Prayer warrior, counselor, priest and prophet heard. Intercessor, advocate, standing for the Lord. Man of God, serving the most High, Man of God, come to shine the Light Man of God, God be with you! 2. The elder who rules well is worthy of double honor. He labors in Word and doctrine, hearing the voice of God. So many generations had no one in his place Standing in the gap, making up the hedge Between the Lord and His people. CHORUS: A comforter, a watchman, preacher of the Word. Prayer warrior, counsellor, priest and prophet heard. Intercessor, advocate, standing for the Lord. Man of God, serving the most High, Man of God, come to shine the Light Man of God, God be with you! "Moments" Background: Ever since I felt the call of God into the ministry as a young boy, I have felt the urgency of working hard and fast for the kingdom of God. Time is drifting away, and our delays in serving Him are at the expense of priceless souls. God, help me to make the most of every day. 1. Moments come and moments go Looking back I see them now Times when I saw someone Needing love and peace Though I saw them as they came Those moments never live again For they're gone Time is drifting away CHORUS So let me live and Let me love my neighbor I want to be concerned About my fellowman I want to take Jesus To the poor and lost and dying And make my moments live Time is drifting away 2. This world is not concerned About its destiny It wanders aimlessly nowhere But you know that heaven is true So let me tell you what to do Give them Jesus Time is drifting away TO AVOID LEAVING THIS PAGE "Eternal Life" Background: I wrote this song when I was 10 years old. I remember the day my Pastor and his wife came to visit in our home, and I sang and played this song for them on our old upright piano. It was the first song I copyrighted. When you listen to it, remind yourself never to underestimate the potential of a ten-year-old child to understand and believe the gospel message. I believed it then, and I believe it now. 1. As sun went down near Pilate's hall And Jesus stood before the throng There was no hope the Savior's life could be spared. But God's own son was reconciled For in Him was Eternal LIfe As blood fell there, Eternal Life with me was shared. CHORUS: The nails that pierced His lovely hands, The crown of thorns placed on His head, Were only marks that this world's sins had been forgiven. For Jesus was God's only Son, His life by man could not be won. As blood fell there, Eternal Life with me was shared. 2. They placed my Lord within a tomb And left two men to guard the room. But Jesus still could not be held by mortal man. For yet three days, then came the hour When Jesus came forth raised in power And there to live forever and eternally. CHORUS: The nails that pierced His lovely hands, The crown of thorns placed on His head, Were only marks that this world's sins had been forgiven. For Jesus was God's only Son, His life by man could not be won. As blood fell there, Eternal Life with me was shared. "Just In Time" Background: Although I have been in the ministry since the mid-1960s, I never forget that there have been plenty of occasions when I might have fallen, never to rise again. I thank God for every time when He came to me before I totally wiped out. Just in time - You found me just in time. My time was running out when You came to me. I had failed, and I was bound for hell, But You came just in time. You came just in time. Even when I thought that I could make it without Your help, You never walked away. You were there when I was sore against You, When I mocked You and I took Your name in vain. Nobody else could ever have forgiven, Cause people find it too hard to forget. I'll never know just how You found it in You, But Your love covers multitudes of sins. Just in time - You found me just in time. My time was running out when You came to me. I had failed, and I was bound for hell, But You came just in time. You came just in time. TO AVOID LEAVING THIS PAGE "I'm Just Praising The Lord" Background: I have spent my whole life around Spirit-filled people, and would not want it any other way. In the book of Acts 15:16, James described the Church that was born on the day of Pentecost as the revival of the Tabernacle of David. That meant it was a resurrection of the jubilant praise and worship, singing and dancing, and playing on musical instruments that King David was renowned for. David's wife despised David for his spontaneous "disorderly" worship, and there are plenty of people today who despise it now. But I'm pretty defensive about worshiping God in that kind of demonstrative way. It's in the Bible! Gospel music not only has great rhythm, it has a great God. Sing! Dance! Praise Him! 1. In the day that we live - the day of the end, You know Jesus is soon to return. We're in the last days. No other before Has ever been quite the same. And it's due to this fact that I want to return To those good-old, old-fashioned ways. So I'll lift up my voice like great men of old And cry "Lord, won't you do it again?" CHORUS: I'll just lift up my voice and shout unto God, I may even talk in tongues. I'll dance in the aisles and praise His dear Name, And I'll thank Him for what He has done. It don't matter to me what others may say Cause Jesus is all in all to me. It may look silly to you, but don't worry 'bout me, Brother, I'm just praising the Lord! 2. Well, it's a sad commentary about Churches nowadays; They've traded their shout for a frown. Some people get so offended, they say, When others get carried away. But I'm here to tell you what we need right now Is that old-fashioned Holy Ghost power. It eases our burdens and lightens our loads, And sends us all home with a smile. CHORUS: I'll just lift up my voice and shout unto God, I may even talk in tongues. I'll dance in the aisles and praise His dear Name, And I'll thank Him for what He has done. It don't matter to me what others may say Cause Jesus is all in all to me. It may look silly to you, but don't worry 'bout me, Brother, I'm just praising the Lord! I may dance in the aisles, I may talk in tongues, But brother, I'm just praising the Lord. It may look silly to you, but don't worry about me, Brother, I'm just praising the Lord. I'm just praising the Lord. "Lord, I Need You Now More Than Ever" Background: I wrote this song the night before my first son was born. I was in Corpus Christi, Texas, preaching a series of revival meetings while my wife remained at home pending the birth of our first child. During the night, I spent several hours in prayer in the dark Church auditorium. I was overwhelmed at the new responsibilities I would soon face as a new father, as well as the enormous responsibilities of fulfilling the call of God to preach the gospel to every creature. This song was born at about 2 AM out of that prayer-time. Click here for CHORD CHART 1. There are troubles in this old world That are so hard to bear There are trials I meet each day And I need Someone to care. Lord, I know You see each moment that I need You most And Lord, I need You now more than ever CHORUS: So walk with me, talk with me, Be my friend today. Cause Jesus, if You leave me now, I'd never find my way. So take my hand and guide me until we make it through Oh, Lord, I need You now more than ever. 2. There are so many disappointments on every hand But I know, Jesus, You can give me strength that I can stand. Help me make it through the night Until that morning comes. Oh, Lord, I need You now more than ever. CHORUS: So walk with me, talk with me, Be my friend today. Cause Jesus, if You leave me now, I'd never find my way. So take my hand and guide me until we make it through Oh, Lord, I need You now more than ever. TO AVOID LEAVING THIS PAGE "When I Get To That City" Background: I love to sing about heaven, not only for my own joy, but to keep that doctrine and great hope at the center of our attention. We need to be constantly reminded that heaven is a real place and it is one of the great motivations for living for God. 1. Nothing down here keeps my heart from longing For that Great Day that's coming by and by. It won't be long until we'll all be leaving. I just can't wait to see Him in the sky. CHORUS: When I get to that city I'll walk through gates of pearl I'll stroll down streets of gold Past mansions that can't be bought. I'm going to step right up with the saints of God And lift my hands unto the Lord and cry "Worthy is the Lamb that's slain. Holy, Holy, is His name. Praise be to the everlasting God!" 2. You'd better make sure all your sins have been forgiven Cause everything up there is pure and clean There'll be a song on the lips of everyone who enters. In that city, ten million saints will shout and sing. Praise be to the everlasting God!" "Peace Be Unto You" Background: Jesus' disciples must have been terrified by the reality that their Messiah had just been murdered. But when He suddenly appeared in the room where they were gathered, His greeting was deliberate: "Peace be unto you." Our terrors are no worse than theirs, but the words of Jesus are just as poignant to us today: "Peace Be Unto You, I'm the One who bled and died." 1. There were eleven in a barren room When came the sound of footsteps near. It was the same Man who had been crucified They beheld in glory rare. They were troubled; they were terrified. Jesus spoke, said "It is I, Peace be unto you, I'm the One who bled and died." CHORUS: Sent to the earth to bear a cross, to suffer agony; And there to shed the blood of life to wash my sins away. And now He reigns upon a throne, and tells me, "It is I, Peace be unto you, I'm the One who bled and died." 2. Now there's a place within the heart of man That this Jesus wants to be. He'll come in and make a dwelling place If you'll only let it be. He will change your life. He'll make your heart of clay Into something that is new. Just be willing to let the Savior take hold of you. CHORUS: Sent to the earth to bear a cross, to suffer agony; And there to shed the blood of life to wash my sins away. And now He reigns upon a throne, and tells me, "It is I, Peace be unto you, I'm the One who bled and died." TO AVOID LEAVING THIS PAGE "Faith" Background: Paul said, "Without faith, it is impossible to please God." Israel wandered in the wilderness for 40 years because of their unbelief. I do not ever want to be presumptuous about my faith. If my faith is faltering, I want to recognize it immediately. If there is doubt and fear working in me, I want God to deliver me from it right now. That is the prayer I have written into this song. 1. If I could use the faith that God gave me I know I'd have a better world today. So I'll try to show the Lord that I believe Him. I'm stepping out on the promise of His word. CHORUS: But if I waver, help me Lord to grow steady. If I doubt, don't let me fall, don't let me stumble. I'm asking You with all my heart, Help me Lord, not to depart From the glorious faith that comes in trusting You. 2. So many times, the devil binds our courage. He tries our faith, and struggles with our minds. But the Lord will always be the great Protector. There is no harm if in Him we will abide. CHORUS: But if I waver, help me Lord to grow steady. If I doubt, don't let me fall, don't let me stumble. I'm asking You with all my heart, Help me Lord, not to depart From the glorious faith that comes in trusting You. "Will You Stand By His Side?" Background: Jesus did not deserve the accusations, condemnations, torture and sentence of death. He was not only innocent of any wrong-doing, He had daily bestowed His awesome miracles and blessings upon everyone who came to Him with their needs. This song testifies about those HE STOOD BY, and asks the question, "Will YOU stand by HIM?" 1. Fishers were far from the seashore. Storm winds and waves beat high. Peter stepped out into waters that were deep. He saw Jesus standing there by his side. 2. Now the blind man walked on in his darkness Never to see the light But he felt a touch upon his eyes. He saw Jesus standing there by his side. 3. But Jesus walked on toward Calvary. Hundreds cried "Crucify!" Jesus had no defense that night. No one stood by His side. No one stood by His side. No one stood by His side. "Father, why hast Thou forsaken me? Surely, they know not what they do!" Yet Jesus had to die alone. No one stood by His side. So will you stand by His side? Will you stand by His side? Take up your cross and follow Him. Leave all this world behind. Lay down your life and do His will. Will you stand by His side? Here is a song medley, "Above All" and "Daystar," sung by father-and-son duo, Chris and Blaine Slaughter. Ken Raggio is on the keyboard. Performed at a Christmas Concert 2010 at Bridge City United Pentecostal Church (Texas). The following songs are NOT written by Ken Raggio, but are performed by Ken and Dixie Raggio. Here is the Raggio family singing, "God Is Working Out His Plan." The lyrics to the song are below the video. VERSE 1 Caesar called a census, Rome flexed her mighty hand, yet through this day and time, God was working out His plan. Shepherds on a hillside were startled by a light. They didn't expect a miracle to happen on that night. CHORUS God is working out His plan. Every promise He fulfilled all according to His will. God is working out His plan, and against His power no earthly foe can stand. Though the world may try to stop Him, and they say Christ never came; when it seems that evil triumphs, and they fight against His name. Still by His almighty hand, God is working out His plan. VERSE 2 Joseph came with Mary to Bethlehem that day. The inn was full of people, but God still made a way. He is always working His purpose to fulfill. As He worked that Christmas day, our God is working still. CHORUS. God is working out His plan. Every promise He fulfilled all according to His will. God is working out His plan, and against His power no earthly foe can stand. Though the world may try to stop Him, and they say Christ never came; when it seems that evil triumphs, and they fight against His name. Still by His almighty hand, God is working out His plan. BRIDGE Through the years, our God has never changed, He's almighty, and He forever reigns. Still, by His almighty hand, God is working out His plan. Though the world may try to stop Him, and they say Christ never came; when it seems that evil triumphs, and they fight against His name. Still by His almighty hand, God is working out His plan. Here is the Raggio Family singing, "Jesus, The Son Of God." The lyrics to the song are provided below the video. Verse 1. He came in sweet surrender to a manger here below. He came in love so tender, so all the world would know The Savior sent from heaven came that holy night. Jesus, our Emmanuel, came to give us light. The Savior sent from heaven came that holy night. Jesus, our Emmanuel, came to give us light. Jesus, the Son of God, born to be our Savior. Jesus, the Son of God, born to be our Lord. Jesus, the Son of God, born to be our Savior. Jesus, the Son of God, born to be our Lord. Bow down and worship Him, worship Him, worship Him. Bow down and worship Him, worship Jesus our LORD. Bow down and worship Him, worship Him, worship Him. Bow down and worship Him, worship Jesus our LORD. Bow down and worship Him, worship Him, worship Him. Bow down and worship Him, worship Jesus our LORD. Here is my son, Chad Raggio singing "Through The Fire" (home video) Lyrics to this song are below the video. VERSE 1 So many times I've questioned certain circumstances, Things I could not understand. Many times in trials, weakness blurs my vision. My frustration gets so out of hand. It's then that I'm reminded that I've never been forsaken, And I've never had to stand one test alone. When I get all the victories, The Spirit rises up in me, And it's throught fire my weakness is made strong. CHORUS He never promised that the cross would not get heavy, And the hill would not be hard to climb. He never offered a victory without fighting, But He said help would always come in time. Just remember when you're standing in the valley of decision, And the adversary says give in, Just hold on. My Lord will show up, And HE WILL TAKE YOU THROUGH THE FIRE AGAIN. BRIDGE I know within myself I would surely perish But if I trust the mighty hand of God, He'll shield the flames again. CHORUS He never promised that cross would not get heavy And the hill would not be hard to climb. He never offered a victory without fighting, But He said help would always come in time. Just remember when you're standing in the valley of decision, And the adversary says give in, Just hold on. My Lord will show up, And HE WILL TAKE YOU THROUGH THE FIRE AGAIN. Just hold on. My Lord will show up, And He will take you through the fire again. Here is Ken & Dixie Raggio singing "Upon This Rock I Will Build My Church" Performed in 1988. From the archives. Lyrics to this song are below the video. CHORUS Upon this Rock, I will build my Church, and the gates of hell will not prevail against it, Oh, Upon this Rock, I will build my Church, and the gates of hell will not prevail against it. VERSE I'm so glad I can say I'm a part of the Church of the living God. It's a blood-washed Church, and it's called by His name, and it's built on the Rock. It's the solid Rock Christ Jesus - It's a Rock that cannot fail. His Church will stand victorious over every power in hell. CHORUS BRIDGE It'll stand through the fire. It'll stand through the rain. It'll stand victorious through the power in My Name. It'll stand through the fire. It'll stand through the rain. It'll stand victorious through the power in My Name. CHORUS
