WONDERS IN HEAVEN Before The Day Of The Lord “I will shew wonders in heaven above, …before that great and notable day of the Lord come,” Acts 2:19-20. By Ken Raggio On April 26-28, 2011, the worst storms in history struck the U.S. These "wonders in heaven" are ancient prophetic signs; ...divine announcements that Jesus Christ will soon return. 
God promised to demonstrate His supernatural influence on nature in the last days, by explicitly fulfilling detailed prophecies from ancient times.
“I will show wonders in heaven above…” What kind of tell-tale prophetic signs might be manifest “IN HEAVEN ABOVE,” before Jesus returns? Historic Tornadoes 258 TORNADOES broke out in ONE STORM SYSTEM, April 26-28, 2011! That is the LARGEST OUTBREAK in US history, (or perhaps in world history, as far as we know), far ahead of the previously largest storm system (which spawned only 148 tornadoes). The LARGEST and MOST POWERFUL TORNADO ever recorded plowed through Tuscaloosa and Birmingham, Alabama (according to Tammie Souza of FOX Chicago News, April 29, 2011). It was a rare EF-5, with wind speeds in excess of 200 mph. It set a new track record by staying on the ground for at least 175 miles. Historic Cyclones and Hurricanes 
In 1970, the DEADLIEST CYCLONE ever recorded (Bhola) struck East Pakistan (now Bangladesh), killing almost a HALF-MILLION PEOPLE! In 1975, the DEADLIEST TYPHOON in recorded history (Nina) struck China, killing over 100,000 people. In 2005, the LARGEST NATURAL DISASTER to ever hit the United States was Hurricane Katrina. 
It killed 1,836 people, and cost $80 Billion.
In recent decades, the MOST POWERFUL TROPICAL CYCLONES have occurred. 2006 - Hurricane Ioke - Worst storm ever in the North Central Pacific Ocean 2005 - Hurricane Wilma - Worst storm ever in the North Atlantic Ocean 2012 - Hurricane Sandy - Broke Wilma's record, becoming the largest ATLANTIC Hurricane on record, with winds spanning 1,100 miles. It killed at least 253 people, and caused $65.6 Billion in damages. 2004 - Cyclone Gafilo - Worst storm ever in the Southwest Indian Ocean 2003 - Cyclone Inigo - Worst storm ever in the Australian region 2002 - Cyclone Zoe - Worst storm ever in South Pacific Ocean 1999 - Cyclone Orissa - Worst storm ever in North Indian Ocean 1997 - Hurricane Linda - Worst storm ever in North East Pacific Ocean 1998 - Hurricane Gilbert - Largest storm ever in the Western Hemisphere 1979 - Typhoon Tip - Western Pacific - Largest storm EVER IN THE WORLD! 2005 was the FIRST TIME MORE THAN TWO CATEGORY-5 HURRICANES ever formed in one year. 2007 was the FIRST TIME TWO CATEGORY-5 HURRICANES ever made landfall in the United States in one year. 2000-2009 had the MOST CATEGORY-5 HURRICANES ever in one decade. EVERY ONE of these history-making, record-breaking storms have occurred in the last FIFTY YEARS. Even MORE interesting, is the fact that ALL THESE RECORDS have been broken SINCE ISRAEL BECAME A STATE in 1948, which is, in itself one of the greatest prophetic signs that we are living in the final generation before Jesus returns to the epic Battle of Armageddon. Can anyone NOT SEE that there is a clear and conspicuous prophetic trend being manifest here? We have every reason to believe that these are divinely-prophesied “wonders in heaven.” Flying Machines 
1903: The first recorded controlled, powered, sustained heavier-than-air flight - by Wilbur and Orville Wright; Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina. 
1951: The first commercial Jet Airliner flight - the de Havilland DH 106 Comet 
1957: The first Satellite put into orbit – Sputnik 1; Soviet Union 
1961: The first manned space flight - Vostok 1, Cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin; Soviet Union 
1962: The first Inter-Planetary Probe – Mariner 2 goes to Venus; United States 
1969: The first humans on the Moon - Apollo 11, Astronauts Armstrong, Collins, Aldrin; United States 
1976: The first spacecraft to operate on Mars – Viking Lander; United States 
1981: The first Space Shuttle - Columbia, launched from Kennedy Space Center, Florida (exploded in 2003) 
1983: The first spacecraft to cross Asteroid Belt, pass Jupiter, leave Solar System – Pioneer 10; United States 
2004: - The first privately-owned manned space flight – SpaceShipOne; United States "Blood, and Fire, and Pillars of Smoke" Joel 2:30 and Acts 2:19 Includes Challenger explosion, Columbia explosion, American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175 attack on WTC - 9/11 
The Prophet Joel must have had visions of rockets streaking into the sky! FIRE! PILLARS (columns) of SMOKE! Remember: THE WORLD HAS NEVER SEEN ANYTHING even remotely comparable to what we have seen in the past FIFTY YEARS. That is all the more reason why we should give credence to the prophetic significance of all these facts. Again, the most interesting consideration for all these facts is that virtually every one of these occurrences have taken place SINCE ISRAEL BECAME A NATION IN 1948! Space Discoveries Men have always been stargazers, but in the 16th Century, Nicolaus Copernicus revealed to mankind the first general diagram of the Solar System. Johannes Kepler showed the elliptical orbits of the planets. Isaac Newton discovered the Law of Gravity. Galileo discovered Jupiter’s moons. William Herschel mapped out 90,000 stars in the Milky Way Galaxy. Those were landmark, watershed discoveries in their times, but the real essence of the Universe and Outer Space still remained a mysterious enigma. It was not until the Twentieth Century when mankind began to see and understand the heavens. God had told us that in the last days, “I will show wonders in heaven.” Between 1915 and 1919, Albert Einstein unveiled his “General Theory of Relativity,” which enabled giant leaps forward in the understanding of time, light, and space. In the 1920s, Edwin Hubble discovered that several presumed “nebulae” were instead ENTIRE GALAXIES! Before that time, the Milky Way Galaxy was presumed to be the entire Universe. Hubble also discovered the fact that the Universe is constantly expanding. 
Then, in 1990, the Hubble Telescope was launched into space, placed into permanent orbit, and the world’s most amazing camera was activated.
of “wonders in heaven” were being downloaded to earth! You can give credit to scientists and aerospace professionals for this remarkable achievement, if you want. But in truth, ALMIGHTY GOD is the One who 2500 years ago promised that in the last days, "I WILL SHOW WONDERS IN HEAVEN ABOVE!" The REASON we have these incomprehensible scientific achievements to amaze ourselves is because GOD planned from the beginning to reveal these things to us in the last days, as a WARNING and REMINDER that Jesus Christ will soon return to earth to conquer all evil, and establish a glorious 1000-year Kingdom on earth. The following (tiny few examples) of the INFINITE NUMBER of “wonders in heaven” that Almighty God promised to show us before “that great and notable day of the Lord come” should awake you to the righteousness and awesomeness of God our Creator - Jehovah God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, incarnate in the man, Jesus Christ! were prophesied to appear before "the day of the Lord," ...ARMAGEDDON!
