Any time the subject of Bible prophecy is raised, it is almost inevitable that the conversation will eventually turn to Revelation 13 where the Beast, the False Prophet, and the Mark of the Beast are mentioned. This is one of the great focal points of Bible prophecies about the Last Days.
The first beast in Revelation 13 is a seven-headed, ten-horned government based in Europe. The seven heads listed in Revelation 13 are the same seven heads on the four beasts in Daniel's prophecies in Daniel 7.
1 - head of a LION - Britain
1 - head of a BEAR - Russia
4 - heads of a LEOPARD - European Union
1 - head of DREADFUL BEAST - United Nations
TOTAL: 7 heads on the beast of Revelation
We cannot yet define the ten horns, because the prophecies say that they will not come to power until very shortly before Jesus Christ returns at Armageddon. They will receive power in one hour with the BEAST (the European-based World Government), and will make war with the Lamb - Jesus Christ, at His coming to Armageddon.
"The ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast. These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them." Revelation 17:12-14
I suspect that the ten horns will be a coalition of ten nations - a reconfigured European conglomerate of nations - who had been specifically involved in the disposition of the land of Palestine. I expect these ten horns to be a European power-team who will be involved in the enforcement of the dividing up of the land of Israel between the State of Israel and a newly-formed State of Palestine. They will be very hostile to Israel.
Since virtually all the major Bible prophecies are somehow connected with Israel, it is only logical that these ten horns will have a significant role in Israel's experience shortly before Armageddon. The prophecy clearly states that they will make war with Jesus Christ, and that will be on the mountains of Israel, as is stated elsewhere in prophecy. So the ten horns will definitely be a hostile coalition that will make war with Israel.
Who will they be? Nobody will know until they are revealed. Anything else would be just guesswork. My best guess is that it will be ten members of the Western European Union, which by that time, may include Turkey, and by default, an Islamic influence.
Once Turkey ever ascends to power within European politics, you can expect to see the Islamic influence in Europe multiply exponentially. Islam is presently attempting to overthrow the Netherlands, and 54 million other Muslims throughout Europe are rapidly asserting a heavy-handed Islamic influence throughout the continent, challenging the ancient Roman Catholic influence. For that reason, we should expect to see the Roman Catholic Church exerting an all-out power play to maintain its control in Europe and throughout the world. This is probably going to be the Catholic Church's last stand. We will soon see how it all unfolds.
Here is what we know about the Seven-Headed Beast
which will be an antichrist world government, according to Revelation 13.
"And the beast which I saw was like unto a LEOPARD,"
The bulk of its body was German - that is, the motherland of the Holy Roman Empire, or the modern European Union.
"...and his feet were as the feet of a BEAR,"
RUSSIA will be part of this Armageddon coalition of nations.
"...and his mouth as the mouth of a LION:"
This international beast-government speaks English, the language of the United Kingdom.
"...and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority."
The devil is in the details; literally Satan himself drives this government. (Note: Although a dragon is the modern symbol of China, the Bible clearly says that the dragon mentioned here is NOT China, but the Devil himself! "He laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan," Revelation 20:2, also 12:9).
MORE ABOUT THE BEAST:
"And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed:
The leopard - Germany - has four heads, four "reichs." One was wounded to death. (Some teach that the Antichrist will be shot in the head, but that is NOT AT ALL consistent with the prophecies.) Hitler's Third Reich is the head on the 7-headed beast that received the mortal wound when the German empire was divided in half by the "three ribs" in the mouth of the bear - Russia - at the end of World War II by Joseph Stalin, Winston Churchill and Franklin D. Roosevelt - the "big three." Journalists in the 1940s called the dividing of Germany "a deadly wound."
The deadly wound was healed after Ronald Reagan challenged Mikhail Gorbachev of the USSR to tear down the Berlin Wall, and East and West Germanys were reunited. When the deadly wound was healed, all the world wondered after the BEAST. (When the Berlin Wall fell, and Germany was reunited, the USSR fell soon thereafter, regional politics quickly took a back seat to global politics, and NEW WORLD ORDER proponents were virtually dancing in the streets. Since the staged and fake "fall of communism" the NEW WORLD ORDER has flourished.)
"And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?"
The first Beast of Revelation 13 is an international coalition against Israel that will be dominated by the United Kingdom (the lion head), Russia (the bear head), European Union (four-headed leopard) and the United Nations (the dreadful beast).
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY AWESOME:
The VERY BEASTS that John saw in Revelation 13, AND that Daniel saw in chapter 7 are the SAME BEASTS that are now participating in the UN QUARTET, whose job is to TAKE AWAY the Holy Land from Israel. Daniel SAW THE BEAST that would violate Israel immediately before Jesus comes to save Israel at Armageddon. Here is a picture that clearly shows all of Daniel's beasts in this 2005 meeting of the UN Quartet at the UN headquarters in New York.
This VERY BEAST [UK, Russia, UN, US, EU] IS NOW FUNCTIONING as the U.N. Quartet. Originally headed by Tony Blair, the UN 'Quartet' has relentlessly pursued a "Two-State Solution" between Israel and Palestine. They are attempting to drive Israel out of the Holy Land even as I write this. First, the U.S. was represented by Condoleezza Rice, then replaced by Hillary Clinton. Now, John Kerry is in that role.
THE UN QUARTET consists of RUSSIA, UN, US, and EU.
Britain is the spokesman. Daniel saw them 2500 years ago.
Bear, Dreadful Beast, Eagle wings, Leopard, with mouth of the Lion.
5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies;
(This world government blasphemes God, in the first case by its brash defiance of God's sovereignty over the Holy Land, the Promised Land, in forcing Israel to surrender the land of God's Covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob to the sons of Ishmael. While it appears that the land being given away will be predominated by Islamo-fascists, the fact is that the Muslim world is strong-arming the United Nations to do the dirty work. It is the UN Quartet that is actually carrying out the task of stealing the land from Israel.)
and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.
And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.
A THIRD PARTY, the Assyrian MAN OF SIN [2 Thessalonians 2:3], working with the Beast and the False Prophet (Pope) will rise up in the last three-and-a-half years before Armageddon.
This Man of Sin, who is also called the Little Horn, the King of the North, the son of perdition and other names, and who will have a palace "between the seas" in or near Jerusalem (not Rome) will stand in the newly-built Third Temple in Jerusalem in open defiance to the God of the entire ancient Judeo-Christian posterity, heritage, legacy; blaspheming everything Biblical, Israeli and Christian, including the Third Temple, all Jews and Christians, and ultimately, Jesus Christ Himself.
The BEAST of Europe and the FALSE PROPHET of Rome will be GLOBAL POWERS. The Assyrian Man of Sin will play a local and regional AND international role in Jerusalem, committing the Abomination of Desolation in the Temple, and other atrocities. ULTIMATELY, the Assyrian Man of Sin will manifest himself as the LITTLE HORN of Daniel 7 and 8. He will UPROOT three members of the 10-horned European-based world government, and USURP the Catholic leader of the 10-horned European entity and SUPPLANT the leadership, by becoming a MUSLIM leader of the European-based world government. Suddenly the MAN OF SIN will become the FIRST BEAST, too.
BUT BEFORE THE ASSYRIAN MAN OF SIN SUPPLANTS THE FIRST BEAST, the POPE of Rome will launch the MARK OF THE BEAST, forcing everyone in the world to receive a mark in their forehead or their hand, that no man might buy or sell unless he has the Mark of the Beast or his name, or the number of his name. And that will trigger the GREAT TRIBULATION - the last 42 months before Armageddon.
And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
(The most significant of these prophecies reveals that THIS government - THESE nations, and THESE presidents and prime ministers - will officially declare hostilities against the living saints of God - all true Christians - immediately before Jesus returns.
And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
(As is ALREADY the case, world opinion is increasingly ANTI-CHRISTIAN. Islam, with almost TWO BILLION adherents, hates Christians. Roman Catholicism, dominated by the Society of Jesuits, now preaches atheistic Liberation Theology [Communism and Evolution] around the globe in nearly every nation. That is another 1 BILLION ANTI-CHRISTIAN populace. They are accompanied by another 2 BILLION Hindus, Buddhists, Shinto, Freemasons, Occultists, Atheists and various sundry pagans who are also ANTI-CHRISTIAN. So the entire final WORLD GOVERNMENT is Anti-Christ!)
9 If any man have an ear, let him hear. 10
He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.
(This blood-thirsty antichrist beast government will be destroyed, even as it destroys. Saints, be patient!)
11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.
(The "Vicar of Christ," the Pope of the Roman Catholic Church would speak to the world in the stead of the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ, but
HE IS A DEVIL.)
12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him,
(The POPE is an enormous force behind the European Union, and as the EU takes pre-eminence at the UN, the Pope's power in world Government will become more pronounced.)
...and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
(The Pope, and the Roman Catholic Church are the loudest vocal proponents of the revival of the ancient Holy Roman Empire, in the modern form of the European Union, and by default, the EU's prominence as the last remaining superpower in the world government, the United Nations)
13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh
fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
Study the modern teachings of the Roman Catholic Church on the subject of the Virgin Mary - Mariology. You will see prophecies galore foretelling a time, soon-to-come [they say], when the Pope will call down fire from heaven in the sight of men, and will call the entire world to a revival of the Roman Catholic Church. Don't think this cannot literally happen. Around the world, images of Mary are already bleeding and oozing oil, and apparitions of Mary have been appearing for centuries. Don't be surprised if one of them actually speaks during the coming tribulation period! They already claim hundreds of supernatural miracles by the Virgin Mary, including apparitions, visions, bleeding statues, statues dripping oil, etc., etc. They fully anticipate this fire-falling miracle imminently. In a book called "Thunder of Justice," Ted and Maurine Flynn document Catholic prophecies forecasting the Pope calling down fire from heaven, which event will trigger a massive revival of Roman Catholicism worldwide.
14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
You have to see this one:
First of all, be certain that the European Union, collaborating with the UK (lion) and Russia (bear) at the United Nations (dreadful beast), is a depiction of the Seven-Headed

Secondly, be certain that the False Prophet
is the Pope of the Roman Catholic Church.
If you are not yet convinced of that,

Third, be certain that the POPE is imposing the IMAGE of the RCC on the EU.
MARY is the image being IMPOSED by the Roman Catholic Church ONTO the European Union. When the Pope "makes an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live," he is placing the IMAGE OF THE VIRGIN MARY as the SYMBOL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION!
The flag of the EU is the TWELVE STARS
OF THE VIRGIN MARY! Mary is called "the mother of Europe" by the Popes of Rome.
The Cathedral in Brussels, Belgium, seat of the European Union,
features a prominent display of the image of the Virgin Mary with the 12-Stars around her head. I have visited both the headquarters of the European Union and the Cathedral in one afternoon, and must say that the Catholic presence in this EU capitol is quite impressive, if not overt. (Incidentally, the Catholics mis-interpret the prophetic woman with twelve stars. The correct interpretation is that the woman represents the nation of Israel, and the stars represent the twelve tribes of Israel - certainly NOT MARY!)
15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of
the beast should be killed.
The Roman Catholic Church has, for many centuries,
been attempting to give life to the image of Mary. Over 600 locations around the world are designated as holy sites where apparitions of the Virgin Mary have been seen, and where statues (idols) of the Virgin Mary are "venerated" - adored, worshiped.

16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
This is intriguing. The POPE is the person who finally imposes the Mark of the Beast! The Catholic Church will be the driving force behind implementing a world-wide Mark of the Beast. Count on it!
I suspect that it will be the most politically-correct way for Catholic Europe to harness the Islamo-fascist insurgency - ECONOMIC SANCTIONS in the form of a new, paperless currency - the MARK! - for Islam and all the world.
17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. (Don't
take the mark. It is the stamp of Satan on everyone in the Last Days.)
18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six. (We will certainly see this distinctive identifier when the Mark of the Beast is finally implemented. Already, we can recognize it in the "bar-code" of the Universal Product Code, and it will certainly appear somehow in the final technology of that time.)
So, what is the conclusion of Revelation 13?
The
European Union will dominate the United Nations (or
whatever the final world government is called) and will be manipulated
from the
sidelines by the Pope and the Roman Catholic Church.
These
two forces, the Beast
(the European-dominated World Government) and the False Prophet (Pope
and the Catholic Church) will attempt to destroy or at least control
all of
Judaism, true Christianity, perhaps even Islam, and impose a
Socialistic Liberation Theology around the world using the
Mark of
the Beast as brute force. Don't think that the Catholic Church will not kill those who do not believe. Just read the history of the Inquisitions and the Jesuits during the
Reformation!
But
Jesus will
come, just
in the "nick of time" and intervene. The Beast and the False Prophet will be cast alive into a burning lake of fire by none other
than Jesus
Christ Himself at Armageddon, according to Revelation 14.
